Since we started Celestyal Cruises upon the extensive foundation of 84 years of hospitality experience, we have always cared first and foremost about our guests and our employees. Since day one, it has been our mission to create authentic experiences for our guests that focus on the destination whilst enjoying the warm Greek hospitality renowned the world over. This has always been Celestyal Cruises ambition and will remain so.
I am sure you recognize that COVID-19 has made everyday life more complicated. On March 11, we were one of the first cruise lines to announce a temporary suspension of operations through May 1st, 2020. In the time since that announcement, many of you have expressed concern for our crew, and I want to reassure you that we are taking good care of them. Having taken the early decision to voluntarily suspend our cruise operations, this afforded us valuable time to repatriate our crew safely back to their families before worldwide flight operations closed down. In that spirit, we have made the decision to extend our temporary suspension of operations through June 29, 2020.
For guests with sailings departing within this window of suspended operations, we are offering a Future Cruise Credit Voucher valued at 120% of all monies paid to Celestyal. By adding 20% to the value of what they originally paid, they now can enhance their trip - such as choosing a longer itinerary, upgrading their stateroom category, or even adding more shore excursions to those already included. Our mutual guests have until December 31st 2021 to redeem their Future Cruise Credit and to make a new reservation on any of our 2020, 2021 and 2022 itineraries. For additional flexibility, if guests are unable to use this voucher, we will automatically send a refund equal to the original amount paid to Celestyal, upon expiry of the voucher on December 31st 2021.
We would like to remind you that your commission is protected upon redemption of the future cruise certificate and any additional increases to the new booking value will also be commissionable thus affording you the opportunity to recover much needed commissionable revenue.
Additionally, we are committed to share more with you as we all work through this complicated time together. To that end, please do keep a look out for our new digital 2021 and 2022 brochure which will be available to you and our mutual guests in order to start the dreaming and planning of their next Celestyal cruise.
